This year’s theme is:
“Aphasia means I have lost my words, not my intellect”

During the months of June and October, members of the Aphasia International Association will be supporting people who have aphasia to raise public awareness of this devastating communication disability.
Whilst aphasia can affect the ability to speak, to read, to write or to understand language, intellect is unaffected.
People with aphasia say that a lack of awareness among the general public is one of the main barriers to their confidence. This can feel very isolating and frustrating. That is why we continue to take every opportunity to speak about aphasia, to share the experiences of group members and to offer tips for better conversations.
Please add your voice to our Aphasia Awareness Month campaigns by sharing our postcard and following on Twitter @aphasiaIntl using the hashtag #Aphasia.
